Broadacre House in Bradford transforms into a new Premier Inn Hotel Date: 14th December 2011GMI Construction has completed the redevelopment of Broadacre House in Bradford into a 118-bed Premier Inn for client Gregory Property Group.
Gregory Property Group acquired Broadacre House earlier this year from Keyland Developments, the property arm of Yorkshire Water, and has since invested more than £5m to redevelop the 10-storey tower. The 50,000 sq ft building, which is situated on Vicar Lane close to its junction with Leeds Road and Hall Ings, was built by Yorkshire Water in the 1970s to provide customer service a technology space. Richard Tovey at Gregory Property Group said, “When we acquired Broadacre House it was looking tired and so we were delighted to attract immediate interest from Premier Inn which made the redevelopment viable. "A 118-bed hotel will be a major boost for the city's economy and we were able to retain 9,200 sq ft of adjacent office space which we have pre let to Foundation Housing on a 15-year lease. We forward sold the hotel but will retain ownership of the office space. We are delighted with the end product delivered by our construction partners GMI and Rex Procter & Partners." Jarrod Best, Managing Director at GMI Construction commented: “The refurbishment of Broadacre House into a Premier Inn brings a new modern hotel to the Bradford area and GMI are delighted that we could partner with the team to deliver this development. As the site is situated in a prominent city centre location, despite logistical challenges the finished building maintains the hotel’s quality and is set to be a great addition to their portfolio.” |
