GMI are undertaking the £22m regeneration of New Bridge Street. Phase 1 saw the completion of a new flagship Eco Superstore for Tesco adjacent to a 25,000 sq ft retail space including 677 car parking spaces. A brand new bus station with public toilet facilities and a new bypass/link road to ease congestion.

In addition, work to improve the environment of the town centre has taken place, such as enhancing landscaping, adding new seating areas as well as a comprehensive regeneration of the wider area of Clay Cross,
