The design and build contract for Phase 2 encompasses ground improvement works to prepare the site for the construction of a single storey doctors surgery building including a reception waiting area, consultation/treatment rooms and offices.
The pharmacy shell will also be constructed along with the additional 9 retail units and associated external works to create a public realm area. The town centre car park and dedicated doctors parking area will provide a total of 136 spaces.
With community enhancement and continuing the reversal of large retail leakage from the Town Centre, at the heart of the overall masterplan, Phase 2 will also improve pedestrian links between the new supermarket into the town centre through the extension of the existing boulevard adjacent to the supermarket car park.
Furthermore a rolling programme of public art will be a significant part of these works to incorporate new features on the medical centre and retail units and along the boulevard.
