Redevelopment proposals for Clay Cross have been developed over a number of years and the first phase of development is now complete.

GMI have been very closely involved with the plans for Clay Cross for over 20 years, experts at delivering this type of complex and long-term regeneration proposal.

GMI carried out wide-scale consultation on the development proposals to gauge public opinion about facilities in Clay Cross and what the local population really wanted. The addition of a major superstore together with good parking was seen as a key requirement amongst the people of Clay Cross and it has brought lost trade back into the town centre and encouraged other businesses to move back to the area.

Traffic congestion in Clay Cross has long since presented a major problem making it difficult for pedestrians and shoppers. Heavy traffic flows through narrow roads and streets also bring problems of pollution, noise, accidents and vehicle delays.
