Our Commitment to Considerate Constructors Scheme

At GMI we take a structured approach to our responsibilities and we see real value in being part of the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS).

In the last 12 months our registered sites have scored an average of 34.5 in the audits undertaken.  This is recognised as being above the national average of 31 and is a 'very considerate site'

What are GMI's latest scores?

  • Kirklees College, Huddersfield = 37
  • Rotherham United, Rotherham = 37
  • Broadacre House, Bradford = 36.5
  • New manufacturing facility for P&L Systems, Knaresborough = 36
  • Travelodge & Costa Coffee, Huddersfield = 35.5
  • Headingley Medical Centre, Leeds = 35.5

Our project that transformed redundant offices Broadacre House into a new Premier Inn Hotel has been awarded a 2012 Considerate Constructors Scheme National Site Award.  The ceremony is due to take place in March where the site team will be presented with a certificate to recognise the achievement.

What the CCS points mean?

In any section, 1 is major non-compliance, 2 is minor non-compliance, 3 is satisfactory compliance, 4 rewards measures taken in excess of compliance, 5 rewards exceptional and unique measures taken.

Going the extra mile.....

  • 5 points are only given where a site is doing something exceptional and unique, as well as working to a very high standard.
  • A site that is doing everything to a very high standard will only warrant 4.5.
  • There is no measure which will automatically score a 5 in any one section.
