The project consisted of a new three storey extension, which included an English Language Department, theatre and common room. The structure was of steel frame with composite concrete floors and stairs with external brickwoork and a tiled roof to match the existing building.

The centrepoint of the building was the theatre with completely blacked out floor, walls and ceiling, together with retractable seating and sound room.

The challenging aspect of the project was that the building was to be built within the existing school grounds, whilst still maintaining the every day running of the school by the pupils and staff. Confined working conditions were eased by the regular meetings held by the school and GMI.
