Students will be able to develop their skills in an inspiring learning environment with new classrooms, demonstration areas, offices and associated student facilities such as a refectory. The addition of the new building to the previously vacant site is a complimentary fit with the rich engineering heritage of Huddersfield. The contemporary hi-tech design and finishing reflects the style and character of the vicinity just off St Andrew’s Road. Kirklees College’s vice-principal, Melanie Brooke, said: “The college is delighted to open the new facilities and offer students a top class learning environment. I’m very proud that Kirklees College will be a fundamental part of the engineering and motor vehicle industries in Yorkshire. We’re also pleased that our investment in this new facility will bring construction jobs into the area over the next year.” GMI are currently providing assistance to Kirklees College with the fit-out of the new centre.
