  1. GMI launches UK's largest city centre solar pv system

    Working with RPP, GMI Renewables have installed an innovative system at Clarence Dock for TCS. The system supplies around 15 per cent of the car park’s electricity and, at the same time, returns over 10 per cent on the investment cost. It will also save 55,000 kg in CO2 emissions a year.

     

  2. Steel structures take shape at Rotherham Utd's new stadium

    The main construction phase for the new stadium sees the first steel structure erected, and will continue until January when the next phase will take over, but by the end of the year the stadium will be very much visible. Next week a second team will come on the site and the south stand will start. Hopefully we'll be able to get the roof on in early January or February."

  3. GMI Finance Director Scoops Top Award

    David Shann was honoured at the Yorkshire Finance Director of the Year Awards as he took home the award for Young Finance Director of the Year. Prior to joining GMI in 2004, David spent 10 years working in the financial sector building his experience up from a wide range of industries. David’s hard work was quickly rewarded as he was appointed as Finance Director and Company Secretary of GMI Construction in 2005.

    In addition to sponsoring the award for Management & Enterprise, GMI took the opportunity to celebrate it's successful partnership projects, by inviting guests from community groups to join them on the night.

    Leeds College of Building’s Annual Awards Ceremony lasted much longer than usual this year because there were a total of 87 prizes to be presented to high achieving students with Jarrod as the honoured guest speaker.

     

  6. Broadacre House in Bradford transforms into a new Premier Inn Hotel

    GMI Construction has completed the redevelopment of Broadacre House in Bradford into a 118-bed Premier Inn for client Gregory Property Group.  Gregory Property Group acquired Broadacre House earlier this year from Keyland Developments, the property arm of Yorkshire Water, and has since invested more than £5m to redevelop the 10-storey tower.
